Why Calibrate?
Professional calibration uses measurements to assess and adjust your display for its viewing environment. We review colour, greyscale and tonal response, with results dependent on the screen and the controls it provides.
A typical visit takes around four hours: basic setup review and correction, SDR calibration, HDR calibration, and before-and-after reports. You receive documented results rather than a generic list of picture settings.
TV and projector calibration starts at R6,000 excluding VAT and travel. iDetic provides and invoices the service throughout South Africa. Professional monitor and studio enquiries are also welcome.

Video calibration is a specialist service that requires expensive, highly specialized and accurate equipment
Colorimeter - Klein K10A
This is the primary meter used in the calibration process, because it's quick and accurate once calibrated
Spectrophotometer - X-Rite i1 Pro
The most accurate meter, but very slow. It's used to calibrate the Klein K10-A at the start of a calibration.
Pattern Generator - Murideo Six G
A device to ensure pixel perfect test patterns used during the calibration process
Software - Calman
Specialist calibration software used for verification, validation and reporting. See an example of a report here.

Charl holds numerous industry-specific qualifications such as the highest level in THX / HAA, ICA and PVA which makes him one of the most qualified people in South Africa for Home Theater Design, Implementation and Calibration.
Video Calibration is provided and billed by iDetic. Charl also commissioned and calibrated a Barco Nerthus in Mauritius; the client remains private.
